The Seed for the Concept:

This concept really grew out of our response to an owner’s frustration with his existing HVACR system and to his need to understand and interact more wisely and efficiently with it.

In 1981 while working on an addition, we observed a very frustrated owner who experienced difficulty when referring to his existing system.  He needed help; we responded with some solutions which were simple for him to understand.
  • To ease the frustration in identifying various parts of his system, we provided him with a simple labeling scheme to use when referring to or interacting with his equipment, switches and stats.
  • Since he was confused about his energy usage and consumption, we educated him and his employees on energy cost and usage.
  • At the time of closeout for his addition, we provided him with a booklet which included the applied labeling scheme, the information on energy usage and the O & M Manuals for his new equipment.
His response to this was, “WOW! Thank you.”  This reaction generated the impetus to extend this help to all of our customers.  Such was the “seed” out of which the concept grew.

The Concept Grows:
The focus of our program was always aimed at preparing the Owner to become a better steward.  Through the years we recognized many ways to add value and to assist our customers with the inherent concerns that come with their HVACR systems.  After many modifications to our booklet, we realized we were helping our customers manage their investment, health , safety and energy usage.   Thus, we added the word “management” to the name of our booklet… naming it the MechBinder ™ management booklet.

The Customer Acknowledgement is one feature we added to the MechManage® program and we include this in our management booklet. This simple addition brought a number of benefits. First, and foremost, it allowed us to begin a “Standard of Care” for our customers with the means to monitor it.  The ‘Standard of Care’ for our customers, addresses the following areas for HVACR systems:

1.    Design
2.    Installation
3.    Maintenance
4.    Documentation
5.    Owner Education

The Concept Today

What we have created with the MechManage® program is a “living and learning” platform with provision for flexibility and creativity.

The Program is easily customizable to contractors’ operations and customizable for each home or business building owner (medium to small buildings).  It can be adapted and expanded to their unique needs and circumstances. Each MechManage program Customer receives the same standard elements of the program while other elements are elective and up to the discrimination of the Contractor.

The MechManage program has evolved into an:
  • Operational platform for contractors and building owners to work together
  • Operational platform for the funneling of info for sharing amongst contractors and other industry stakeholders (EPA, utilities, manufacturers, vendors, associations and contractors).

The MechManage program/platform is a new business paradigm offering a unique way of providing many services to our customers.

The MechBinder management booklet is the product that is given to our MechManage program customers to help them become better stewards of their HVACR systems.

We are holding Webinars regularly to explain the above in more detail, along with the benefits of the Program for HVACR contractors and their customers.  If you would like to be on our list for up-coming webinars, please provide your email in the box below and you will be added to the list for notification.
