Standard of Care for Consumers:
The structure also includes a "consumer standard of care" that all consumers can come to expect from their HVAC contractor, such as ...

           1.  The pulling and satisfing of permits when and where it applies,

         2.  The designing of HVAC systems using the best design practices available. such as...ACCA's
,              manual J and  D,

.        3.  The installing of HVAC equipment according to manufactures instructions,

         4.  The training of owners in the basic operation and maintenance of their HVAC system
               including information regarding controlling stats and breakers,

         5. The training of smoke detection systems and the required maintenance for proper operation,

         6. The documentation of all pertinent/required information, such as...balancing reports, IAQ  
              information, warranties, permits, utility contacts  etc,

         7.  The labeling of main valves, equipment, breakers and switches etc,

         8.  The identifying of a PAL on commercial buildings only,

         9.  The providing of a HVAC service agreement for owners' consideration,

        10. The providing of a MechBinder™ booklet containing the management program, with
               information for owners  use to manage their own welfare, energy and investment which is left
               on site.

 
 
One caveat:  If certified contractors fail to satisfy the above Consumer Standard of Care they risk being decertified as dealers of the MechManage®  management  program.
